Covid-19 Update

April 15, 2020

Dear Colleagues,
I hope this communication finds you all well and healthy!

Yesterday afternoon, the 14th of April 2020, the President of the Republic of Namibia in his briefing statement extended the lockdown from midnight the 17th of April to midnight the 4th of May 2020.

Effectively this means that all workshops and parts sales facilities except for Harley-Davidson will continue to operate with a minimum staff compliment, as per prescribed requirements, until such date.

All other colleagues will be required to commence their duty on Tuesday, the 5th of May 2020.

Although many companies are applying the 'no work no pay' principle, we have decided to mitigate the effect this could have on employees and households by extending the paid leave up to and including the 30th of April 2020.

All employees that have not accumulated enough leave, will be allowed to go into the red and their leave will be recovered over the next few months.

It must however be noted that any lockdown extension past the 4th of May will have a severe impact on the company's future sustainability and ability to continue paying full salaries indefinitely.

Please be assured that the company's main objective during this crisis is to protect the employment and income of all employees.

Stay safe and healthy, Best wishes

Dear Colleagues,
I hope this communication finds you all well and healthy!

The M+Z Group has received certification for all its workshop and parts sales facilities to operate during the Namibian state of emergency period as stipulated in the Proclamation #9 by the President of the Republic of Namibia on the 28th of March 2020. All workshops and parts sales facilities except for Harley-Davidson will therefore commence operating with a minimum staff compliment, as per prescribed requirements, on Tuesday 14 April 2020.

Should you form part of this minimum staff compliment required to proceed with this essential service, you will be contacted by your immediate manager before 17h00 on Thursday 9 April. Strict guidelines have been put in place to ensure that the facilities will be able to operate according to prescribed health and safety measures as required by the WHO.

All other colleagues will be required to commence their duty on Friday, the 17th of April and leave will be extended up to and including the 16th of April. Should the Lockdown be extended past 1 7 April, we will send out a further communication.

We sincerely thank all employees who have been working through this lockdown to assist our customers on an emergency basis.

Stay safe and healthy,
Best wishes

Dear Valued Customers & Suppliers,
The COVID-19 crisis has been emotionally challenging for many of us, changing day-to-day life in unprecedented ways. In our ongoing effort to keep everyone safe and to be responsible corporate citizens, we have made the decision that to remain operational is no longer an option.

All our facilities will therefore shut down effective Friday, 27 March 17h00 and will resume operations on Tuesday, 14 April 2020.

We realize that our business is only as strong as the community which we are a part of. To support the essential services that our clients supply to our community, a 24hr standby service has been put in place. All employees that need to give this support need to ensure appropriate infection control whilst attending to a break down and we request our customers to upkeep such.

Kindly respect that this service will only be allowed to attend to emergency calls.
